PARENT MUST KNOWS

This isn't just a new year for the kids, but a new year for parents like yourself! On this page I have placed a few must knows to help you navigate Third Grade. Let's be honest it takes a village! By working together and staying in the know we can help these kids succeed.

Classtag

Classtag is the platform we will be using for communication this year! I will add you to the classroom with your telephone number. There are two ways to use this system. One is simply by receiving text messages and the other is adding the Classtag App on your phone. I personally recommend adding the app to have full access to it's functions.

I will use this for announcements, one on one communication, and even for scheduling parent teacher conferences.

CHECK BACKPACK EVERY NIGHT

Throughout the week your child might bring home classwork, flyers, permission slips, and behavior notes, so it is important that we dive into the deep dark backpacks! If gone unchecked not only could the papers go missing, but you might miss out on important information.

I do encourage my students to become responsible by showing it to you right when they walk through the door, but this routine is one that takes time to develop.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN CLASSROOM OR FIELD TRIPS

Before you can spend time with our class you must fill out a BACKGROUND CHECK FORM. These are located up in the office, if you did not fill one out at open house.

I would love to have volunteers to help out! My needs change depending on the time of year and what we are working on.

  • Bulletin Boards

  • Cut out laminated items

  • Copy papers

  • Work with either a small group or individual child: Don't worry I won't give you a difficult concept if your nervous about that!

Celebrations and Treats

If you would like to bring a treat in for the class it must be store bought and have enough for all students.

  • Homeroom Block = 17 Students

All Aboard The Energy Bus!

This is a great read aloud for you and your child to listen to! Talk with your child about how they are the driver of their bus and how their day goes.

The video is a read aloud off YouTube.
